2006年1月1日起GMAT考试的出题和管理机构将由ETS（Educational Testing Service）和Thomson Prometric转移至ACT, Inc 和Pearson VUE，新东方GMAT教学专家经研究指出，GMAT新的The Official Guide for GMAT Review（官方指南）第十一版里和目前使用的版本完全不一样，里面所有题目(共800道)全部更新，包括模考软件里面的两套题目。而且以前的一些出题规律也会有所改变，甚至连报名方式和考场都会有很大变化。针对GMAT考试的改革，上海新东方国外考试部早在暑假期间就已经开始进行新GMAT课程的研发课程项目，并将于2006年1月全面使用新教材进行教学。
新的官方指南和新的模考软件
为了平稳过渡，新的The Official Guide for GMAT Review（官方指南）第十一版早在8月份就已经开始销售。新的官方指南吸收了其他培训机构（如Kaplan和Prentice Review’s）的长处，以一个由50道Math（数学）和50道Verbal（语文）组成的测试练习（diagnostic section）作为起点，然后才是各个部分的复习策略和练习题。最引人注目的是，第十一版将近800多道题目和第十版的题目没有重复。为了配合以前没有考过GMAT的考生进行复习，此次还发行了两本配套的专项复习材料——The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review 和The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review，这两本复习材料每本包含大约300多道题目，全部来自于第十版的官方指南，因此与新的官方指南的题目没有重合。
而还没有正式发布的模考软件GMAT Prep也将很快亮相。除了名称上的改变（以前叫PowerPrep）外，GMAT Prep中的两套题目将和官方指南的题目不再重复。这个软件大约20-30兆，估计仍然采用报名即赠送以及网上自由下载的形式出现。同时，这个软件不再像以前只使用640×480的分辨率，而使用了1024×768这样的高分辨率。此外，这个软件只支持Windows 2000或XP，不再支持Windows 98系统。界面的优化和功能键的增加使整个考试更容易上手。 |
